With the countdown on to their long-awaited debut album release in August, today Peking Duk announce a huge Paradise album tour of Australia, plus drop a surprise collab with renowned Australian singer-songwriter Matt Corby. Peking Duk’s Paradise Tour will kick off in Newcastle on September 25th, before taking in another 12 dates along the East Coast of Australia, culminating in a massive show at Melbourne’s Timber Yard on November 27th. Today Peking Duk also unveil the latest taste of Paradise with the stunning Matt Corby collab, ‘Let Go’. A change of pace for Peking Duk, ‘Let Go’ explores a more downbeat tempo, harking back to the early days of Peking Duk releases such as ‘High’ and ‘Take Me Over’, and showcases the breadth of styles fans can expect from Paradise when it’s revealed in full to the world on August 14th.

Reuben Styles from Peking Duk explains how ‘Let Go’ came about, “‘Let Go’ is one of my favourite pieces of music that Adam and I have ever made together. It’s got such a fun, retro electronic feel to it, paying homage to that Australian sound of the early 2010s. Matt‘s vocal is just so beautiful and the way he performed it is just stunning – it gets you in the feels in all the right ways.”

Peking Duk’s Adam Hyde adds, “Let Go is hands down my favourite song off the record. To me it really rings true to the beauty of what Peking Duk is. It’s slow, it’s emotional, yet banging. Matt Corby‘s tone and feeling within his vocal just brings the emotion to a whole new high and it came together so seamlessly and beautifully. It was such a joy to make this in the Noosa hinterland with Matt Corby and Nat Dunn. JoJo, the legendary pop singer, was also present for this session, so what a joy that was. Most of all we just hope you enjoy it. It’s a really joyous song about letting go, feeling free and just surrendering to the powers that be.”

Matt Corby adds, “Whilst in the middle of a writing session with my good mate Nat Dunn in her Sunshine Coast hinterland paradise, the Peking Duk boys rocked up and surprised us. They played us what they were working on for the next album, and I loved it. It feels like their best work yet. We ended up adding some fun musical and melodic ideas to a couple of tracks they were working on. They liked what we did enough to use on their new single, ‘Let Go’.”

Matt Corby is a critically acclaimed singer-songwriter, producer and one of Australia’s most distinctive voices. Earlier this year Matt released his highly anticipated new album Tragic Magic; a deeply raw, soul-rich body of work that captures Matt at his most open, reflective and creatively expansive. Tragic Magic feels both timeless and immediate. Building on the quiet, bruised beauty of 2023’s Everything’s Fine, moving fluidly between grief and joy, intimacy and release, tracing moments of fatherhood, friendship, loss and isolation.

‘Let Go’ follows on from a hot streak of singles from Peking Duk’s upcoming album Paradise including ‘Thrills’ featuring Rico Nasty, ‘Forever’ featuring Phantogram and ‘Do Your Best’ featuring Kah-Lo. ‘Do Your Best’ was premiered live at Peking Duk’s recent Sydney show with Kah-Lo joining Adam and Reuben on stage to blow the roof off the Hordern Pavilion.

Peking Duk will be bringing this energy to their upcoming Paradise Tour this spring with new visuals and special edits of album cuts from Paradise. And if there’s one thing Peking Duk know how to do, it is throw an absolutely epic party. Get ready to sweat, people.

Adam Hyde explains what fans can expect from the Paradise Tour, “We are beyond thrilled to be bringing our debut album on the road across this beautiful country. It’s a whole new show, with new energy, and signifies a whole new chapter for Peking Duk. We want to see all your faces there smiling and sweating, and we will be doing the same. You give us all of your energy and will give you all of ours – that’s the name of the game. We love ya.”

With all their success over the years including ARIA Awards and multi-platinum records, it might come as a surprise that Peking Duk have never released an album. Styles explains, “Our debut album Paradise is something new from us – it’s adventurous both sonically and thematically. It’s got a little more depth which can be dived into as it’s a full length record and we can’t wait to share with everyone and hopefully they join us on the journey to paradise. We’ve come together and made something we are so proud of and we can’t wait to share it.”

Get ready to dive into Peking Duk’s Paradise on August 14th. A place where Paradise isn’t perfect, it’s personal.
